LOVE & HALLELUJAH is a musical memoir drawn from songs, memories, unfinished notes and voice notes shared across generations. At its heart is the creative bond between Philangethemba SS Buthelezi and his mother, Gretta N Buthelezi—often one of the first people to hear, encourage and respond to his music. Some songs were finished together; others became conversations left incomplete. Now gathered into one body of work, they remain a testimony to love, faith, family and the music that survives us. Complete. Incomplete. Still beautiful. Hallelujah.

a musical memoir built from songs, unfinished notes, memories and voice notes shared between a son and his mother.

For years, when I wrote something new, Mama was often among the first to hear it, to listen, encourage, respond and remind me to keep creating. Some of these songs were completed. Others remained ideas, conversations and voice notes waiting for another day. That day never came.

So, LOVE & HALLELUJAH embraces them as they are: complete and incomplete. A conversation between what was written then and what can be finished now; between love, loss, faith and the music that remains. She may no longer be here to hear the finished album, but somehow, I imagine she is still listening and smiling down from Heaven.

Love remains. The music remains. Hallelujah.
