From the recording “Senzeni”
“Senzeni” (“What have we done?”) is the sound of love under pressure, when a relationship turns into a battlefield of vengeance, accusation, dissatisfaction, and constant suspicion. It asks a hard question: How do two people heal when they speak to destroy?
Peela B frames language as a weapon, because in real life, the most dangerous bullets don’t always come from guns; they come from repeated betrayal, humiliation, gossip, and the slow poisoning of trust.
At the same time, “Senzeni” is a protest song: a cry against the fearless, lawless violence that keeps scarring South Africa. The recent killing of Johannesburg media personality DJ Warras in the CBD is a painful reminder that safety is not guaranteed, even in public spaces. This song stands as grief, warning, and prayer, calling for accountability, protection of life, and a return to humanity.
